Vietnam can be considered an attractive study destination for those seeking a cost-effective option, as it offers various scholarships tailored to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Among these opportunities, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh (UEH) stands out with its postgraduate scholarship program, which grants deserving individuals a complete waiver of tuition fees and accommodation expenses.
University of Economics Ho Chi Minh (UEH) PG Scholarship
The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh, renowned for its excellence in economics, provides scholarship opportunities for deserving postgraduate students. Known as the Distinction Scholarship, it is awarded to 20 individuals who have already received admission notifications from the university. This scholarship in Vietnam not only covers the full cost of tuition fees but also includes accommodation expenses amounting to $11,000 (Rs 9,07,277).
To be eligible for this prestigious scholarship, applicants must maintain a GPA of 8.0/10.0, possess an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher, and demonstrate proficiency in Vietnamese at level B2. Moreover, students must possess a pertinent Master's degree that corresponds with the doctoral program they aspire to undertake. While all applicants undergo a merit-based evaluation, those who have previously published in an ISI-Scopus journal will be given preference.
UEH Undergraduate Scholarship
Similar to the scholarships available for postgraduate studies, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh offers three scholarships for deserving international undergraduate students, with a total of 100 slots available. One of these options is the Distinction Scholarship, which covers both tuition and accommodation fees in their entirety. This prestigious scholarship is awarded to students who have achieved a minimum GPA of 8.0/10.0 and have met all specified entry requirements.
Another option for international students is the Full Tuition Scholarship, which also includes accommodation costs. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must meet the GPA and admission criteria, as well as have been recipients of a partial scholarship in the previous year.
Lastly, the university offers the Partial Scholarship program, which covers 50% of the tuition fee, excluding accommodation costs. This scholarship has a total value of $6,200 (Rs 5,15, 948). Compared to the previous two scholarships, this option requires a slightly lower GPA of 7.0/10.0.
To apply for these scholarships in Vietnam, students must provide a copy of their high school diploma and transcripts, a health certificate, and an IELTS result of 5.0 or above. Additionally, applicants are encouraged to submit certificates of other achievements, such as published research or articles, to enhance their application.
Vin University International Scholarships
Vin University, situated in Hanoi, is a privately owned, non-profit establishment that was established in 2018 by Vingroup. This esteemed university offers a range of highly competitive scholarships specifically tailored for international students.
One of these prestigious scholarships is the merit-based scholarship, which is bestowed upon applicants who exhibit exceptional academic performance, commitment, and ingenuity. Successful recipients of this scholarship can avail themselves of a generous grant ranging from 90% to 100%, equivalent to a substantial sum of $126,000 (Rs 1,04,89,317) to $141,500 (Rs 1,17,80,702). Furthermore, they are entitled to a living expense allowance of $1,500 (Rs 1,24,883).
Moreover, Vin University provides a need-sensitive international fellowship that covers a significant portion of tuition fees, ranging from 50% to 80%. Financially, this fellowship is valued between $70,000 (Rs 58,28,060) and $112,000 (Rs 93,24,896). Students who wish to retain any of the aforementioned scholarships must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.
RMIT University International Excellence Scholarships
RMIT University in Vietnam is an affiliated institution of the prestigious Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia. It was established in 2000 and has campuses located in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, and Danang.
RMIT University's excellence scholarship initiative has attracted a diverse range of international students. This opportunity is available to prospective undergraduate students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievements. To be eligible, students must have achieved a year 12 GPA of 75% or its equivalent. Additionally, they must meet the entry criteria for a full-time program and possess a required English proficiency level of 6.5 (IELTS).
Once these criteria have been met, qualified students are entitled to receive a tuition discount ranging from 25% to 50%. For the scholarship to be renewed in subsequent terms, recipients must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or above.
Vietnam Japan University (VJU) Scholarships for Master's Students
This scholarship covers 30% of the total cost of tuition. In addition, it has the potential to be utilized in conjunction with other scholarships offered by the university. To illustrate, the university admits a total of twenty individuals per semester who are bestowed with this privilege.
