Uppsala University is a public analysis institute located in Uppsala Sweden. Established in 1477, it is the oldest institute in Sweden and the Danish nation still in operation. The institute expanded to importance through the expansion of Sweden as a great power at the end of the 16th century and was then given respective economic strength with a biggest charity from King Gustavus Adolphus in the early 17th century. Today more than 50,000 students study at Uppsala University and there are more than 2,000 doctoral students. The University consists of three disciplinary domains: humanities and social sciences, medicine and pharmacy, and science and technology. These in turn are divided into nine faculties and under the faculties there are approximately 60 departments.
