Georgetown University is a private research university located in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. It was established in 1789 by Bishop John Carroll as Georgetown College and is the oldest Roman Catholic institution of higher education in the United States. Student Association: The Georgetown University Student Association is the organization that represents the student government for undergraduate students.
