Campus life 

Campus Dahlem: This campus offers most of the facilities of the university. It is located in the residential garden district of Dahlem in South-Western Berlin. Initially, the campus was founded as a center for research of higher caliber. This was the first campus of the university that housed research institutes and government science agencies of the university. Transportation from campus is very easy for students because it is connected to central Berlin with public transportation.

Geo Campus Lankwitz: Formerly, the Geocampus Lankwitz campus was a part of the teaching training of the university. The campus is a part of the university archives and hub of the Department of Earth Science. Until 2008, the Communication Studies and Institute for Media was located there.

Campus Düppel: The Department of Veterinary Medicine is based on the Düppel campus. Located 2 km southwest of the main campus, this campus consists of numerous institutes and clinics along with a clinic for horses and a small animal clinic.

Campus Benjamin Franklin: Since the establishment of FU University in 1948, this campus has been utilized as a public hospital as part of the medical faculty. After that, it has become the biggest medical establishment in Europe and unified several lecture halls, clinics and institutes. This campus was built with huge financial support from the USA. To honor the support of the US, the campus is renamed "University Clinic Benjamin Franklin". In 2003, it became part of the Charite medical school which consists of 36 scientific institutes and 1,200 hospital beds.
