Campus Life

The University of Edinburgh has 5 main campuses, located in main sites in Edinburgh. These are:

Central Area: The central area of the university covers numerous streets and squares in Edinburgh's Southside and some buildings in Old Town. The Central Area is the oldest area of the university that houses the College of Arts, the School of Informatics, Humanities and Social Sciences. The most attractive area of the university building is around George Square, including 40 George Square, Main Library, Gordon Aikman Lecture Theatre, Appleton Tower and the area's largest lecture hall. Every summer, many university buildings are used to host events during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Edinburgh International Festival. 

King's Buildings: This campus is located in the south of Edinburgh. At the King's Buildings campus, most of the Science and Engineering College's teaching and research activities take place and occupy a 35-hectare site. The campus includes the Alexander Graham Bell Building, a teaching center of the School of Physics and Astronomy, the James Clerk Maxwell Building, the Royal Observatory, the Waddington Building, the Joseph Black Building, the Swann Building, the William Rankine Building and more. 

BioQuarter: This amazing campus is based in the Little France area which is home to most of the medical facilities of the university. The BioQuarter Campus houses the Centre for Regenerative Medicine, Euan Macdonald Centre, Queen's Medical Research Institute and the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic. 

Easter Bush: It is located 7 miles south of the city of Edinburg. The Easter Bush campus houses the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Veterinary Oncology, Imaging Centre, Roslin Institute and the Jeanne Marchig International Centre for Animal Welfare Education. 

Western General: This campus is in proximity to the Western General Hospital and consists of the Edinburgh Clinical Research Facility, the Institute of Genetics and Cancer and the Biomedical Research Facility. 

Student Life at the University of Edinburgh: The student union of the university is known as Edinburgh University Students' Association (EUSA). The buildings for EUSA include The Pleasance, King's Buildings House, Teviot Row House and Potterrow Student Centre and the shops, refectoros and cafes across the university campuses. EUSA represents the student voice at the university and is responsible for more than 250 student societies. The student union of the university is affiliated with the NUS (National Union of Students).
