Founded in 1955, Andijan State Medical Institute is the most popular research center in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Over the years the institute is well-known for providing training to approximately 13,000 physicians (including 800 clinical interns, 1,116 masters, 200 postgraduates and 20 doctoral students) in various directions. Currently, 870 staff work at this institute, 525 professorial-teaching staff in 55 departments, 34 of whom are Doctors of science and 132 candidates of science. The institute trains students in different disciplines such as Dentistry, Professional Education, Therapeutic, Pediatric, High Nursing Affairs, Preventive Medicine, Pharmacy and Physicians. Andijan State Medical Institute has a population of 3,110 students, of which 1,331 students are studying at the Therapeutic faculty, 358 at the Dentistry, 1,009 at the Pediatric, 49 at the faculty of Pharmacy, 175 students at the Professional Education Direction, 71 at the Direction of Preventive Medicine and 117 students study at the Direction of High Nursing Affair. Thousands of students have specialized in this institute such as obstetrics and gynecology, neurology, general oncology, otorhinolaryngology, cardiology, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, public health and public health services, infectious diseases, dermatovenereology, forensic medical examination, pediatrics, morphology, surgery, instrumental and functional diagnostic methods (with its directions), urology, narcology, traumatology and orthopedics, children's cardiology and rheumatology, pediatric surgery, pediatric anesthesiology and intensive care, pediatric neurology and neonatology.
The clinic of the institute has 700 seats that are equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment instrumentations such as Scanners, endoscopes, Scanning USI, Laparoscopic Center, MRT, MSCT and others.
